The Fairground is a well known craft centre in Test Valley developed on the site of the old agricultural Weyhill Fair and dates back to the thirteenth
century. A Michaelmas Fair is held aon the last weekend of September and the fair; once described as ‘the greatest fair in the Kingdom’ involved
particularly the trade of sheep, cheese, and hops. Alongside it grew a pleasure fair.
The Fairground is a heritage site bounded by original chalk walls. The old hop stalls have been converted into 11 units for craftspeople, a licensed
café, an open fronted barn and a Gallery. The Fairground Craft & Design Centre at Weyhill is readily accessible by car and public transport.
